Concentrate your sightfishing on water where the system flows through a single common current. The larger browns want the entire water flow offering the most food.
The trout's diet is always changing. Inspect under rocks for the latest menu. Check the size and colour of the local ecology. It is a ideal standard for what fly pattern to tie on. Typically, natural dark colours in smaller sizes
Using barbless hooks increases the ease of releasing healthy fish fast without having any significant increase of lost fish. Also, a wading stick is not a silly idea. The rocks get extremely slippery!
Find the best vantage point for spotting fish. Preferably in the shade
For the most successful results within a short period of time, spend a day or two with an experienced guide. You will learn more about the local area and fishery and increase the chances of finding fish!
If you have not tried Cicada dry fishing techniques yet. Stop and listen for them. If you hear Cicadas, tie a pattern on. Note: remember to pause a second before setting the hook when you get a take!
